Frequently asked
- What is Typle?
- Typle is a free daily typing speed test. Every day at midnight Eastern Time a new passage is published, and players worldwide race to type it within 60 seconds. All scores appear on a single global leaderboard.
- How is WPM calculated?
- Words per minute = (correct characters ÷ 5) ÷ minutes elapsed. The standard typing-test formula treats every 5 characters as one word.
- What is strict mode?
- If you mistype a character, the cursor stays in place until you press the correct key. Backspace is disabled. This guarantees the leaderboard ranks real, error-free typing speed instead of frantic guessing.
- When does the daily challenge reset?
- Every day at 00:00 America/New_York (midnight ET). The same passage is shared by every player worldwide until the next reset.
- Do I need an account?
- No. There is no sign-up, email, or password. Pick a display name and play. Your streak and personal best are saved in your browser.
- Why is Typle desktop-only?
- Competitive typing depends on a physical keyboard. Mobile devices show a friendly notice asking you to come back on a laptop or desktop.
